Kurdish Culture and Identity

IMG_2078_Edited_1_edited.jpg

Every culture has their own symbols that set them apart from others. These symbols includes flags, clothing, food, music, dance, literature, and celebrations. They also include symbols of identity, including national identity.

Because of the influence of the nations who occupy the Kurdish homeland, also known as Kurdistan, ideas of national identity have formed differently.

Identity and national identity includes all the cultural characteristics mentioned above, but also include a history, especially an ancient history, language, religion, and a recognized geographical area with claimed borders.

This page includes symbols and pictures of artifacts of Kurdish culture and identity.

This website does not take any side in the debate over what Kurdish culture, history, language, religion, and political systems are. These are representations of all the regions of Kurdistan.
